Grab your sunglasses 🕶, sunscreen, and favorite games for field day!!! The field day festivities inspired a fun round up of great field day and field trip books. 📖
Field Trip Fiasco: After the stress of her last attempt at taking her class on a field trip (seen in First Year Letters), Mrs. Hartwell has a plan for an upcoming trip to the zoo—a plan that includes a lot of rules. Her students prove that they can line up straight, walk quietly, and take plenty of notes, but everyone soon realizes that this field trip isn’t as much fun as they’d hoped. Mrs. Hartwell rethinks her plan and saves the day. 📖
Black Lagoon Adventures #6: The Field Day from the Black Lagoon: The just one week until field day at the Black Lagoon and Hubie is going to be ready! But getting in shape in one week is harder than he thinks - especially when the workout kit he has seems to be for chickens.
Junie B. Jones is Captain Field Day: In this story, Junie B. Jones and the rest of Room Nine compete against another class for their school's annual Field Day. As Team Captain, Junie B. Jones must support the team as they lose one event after another.
The Day Jimmy’s Boa Ate the Wash: A class field trip to a farm turns into a broad comic episode when a student releases a boa constrictor in the hen house. Mayhem (and humor) increases page by page in Trinka Noble's raucous story of how not to conduct yourself on a school outing. #earlylit #childrensbooks #funbooks #picturebooks #elementarybooks #booksforendofyear #schoolslp #fieldday #fieldtripday
I’m sure there are many editions of this book and probably still used in behavior analysis programs throughout the states. I was studying this in early 2001-2002 before taking the behavior analyst board certification exam. That seems like a lifetime ago! I’m so thankful for this knowledge and skill set! I rely and continue to utilize the principles of behavior analysis in my daily speech therapy sessions.
Did You Know? Behavior Analysts study behavior – the activity of living organisms. Although the study of behavior includes single responses, applied behavior analysts are interested in larger sets of socially significant behavior referred to as response classes. A response class consists of topographically similar and dissimilar behaviors all of which have the same effect on the environment.
Have You Read This In A Report? X student would benefit from a formal, specific, structured behavior management plan that utilizes concrete and tangible rewards to motivate him and increase his on-task and prosocial behaviors.
Do You Utilize These?
🐭Redirection and reinforcement schedules: Strategies for ignoring disruptive behavior and reinforcing appropriate engagement (e.g., access to preferred toy/food/social activity when engaged in and prior to challenging activities) may be effective in increasing behavioral compliance.
🐭Positive reinforcement: Use positive reinforcement to increase the likelihood that X student will continue to engage appropriately in activities. 💫
Have You Heard This Common Myth? Behavior Analyst only work with children diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. Absolutely false! Behavior Analysts are much like SLPs in regard to their scope of practice. It is huge! Careers include: organizational behavior management, TBI treatment, Behavioral Gerontology, Animal Trainer, Special Educators, Mental Health Provider, work in Behavioral Pharmacology....
